Self-Care Inventory

I don’t know about you, but the time change and the colder weather makes me want to come home from work and sit on the couch and watch TV (and eat) all night long. Not that this isn’t fun to do every once in awhile, but it generally leaves me feeling unmotivated and lazy and I know that a few months of it will lead to whole lot of feeling lazy and unmotivated, not to mention, depressed.
This time of year, I talk openly with my clients about self-care; about creating a routine and about being intentional about doing things that keep themselves healthy. It also forces me to have that same conversation with myself. I focus in on my own self-care and become intentional about the things I need to do on a regular basis to keep me stable and healthy.
Some of the things I do to keep me connected and moving forward are exercise (with friends), read novels- sometimes fluffy guilty pleasure reads, watch stupid funny movies, reach out to friends that I haven’t seen in awhile and schedule a lunch or coffee.
Take a self inventory- what are your things you do or can do? What does an effective self-care routine look like for you?
